Personal Profile

The way I see it, at the core of journalism is always the community—journalists write about communities for the community, and without journalism, the democratic process that brings communities together wouldn’t be possible.

Community----and community engagement reporting----is what makes me passionate about journalism. It pulls you out of the confines of the preconceived notions you have about the world around you and introduces you to purposeful work that is greater than yourself or any other individual. With this in mind, I hope to become a reporter/editor in print/digital journalism with the goal of diversifying coverage, representing underrepresented communities and focusing on social justice.
